Cancer Support Counseling in Centennial, CO
A cancer diagnosis can turn your world upside down, for you and for the people who love you. Cancer support counseling offers a calm, unhurried space to talk openly about what you're carrying and to feel understood along the way.
When Everything Changes at Once
Cancer rarely touches just one part of life. Between appointments, decisions, and waiting for results, there's often little room to sit with how you actually feel. Fear, sadness, anger, numbness, and moments of hope can all show up in the same day.
Many people feel they need to stay strong or positive for everyone else, and end up carrying the hardest parts quietly, on their own. You deserve a place where you can set that down for a while.
You don't have to be strong in here.
Does This Sound Familiar?
- Living with uncertainty from one scan, appointment, or result to the next
- Fear about the future that's hard to put into words, or to say out loud
- Grief for the life, plans, or sense of normal you had before
- Feeling like a stranger in your own body, or unsure who you are now
- Strain or distance in your relationships with a partner, family, or friends
- Pressure to stay positive when you're exhausted, scared, or simply not okay
- Expecting relief when treatment ends, but feeling unsettled or lost instead
What We Can Talk About
Every experience with cancer is different, and there's no right way to feel about it. Here are a few of the places our conversations often begin.
Diagnosis, Treatment, and the Unknown
Making sense of difficult news, coping with the waiting and the decisions, and finding steadier ground when so much feels out of your control.
Changes in Your Body and Identity
Room to talk honestly about how cancer may have changed the way you see yourself, your body, your energy, your work, or the roles you've always held.
Relationships and the People Around You
Cancer can shift how you connect with a partner, family, and friends. We can talk through closeness, communication, and the conversations that feel hardest to start.
Life After Treatment
The end of treatment doesn't always feel like a finish line. We can make room for lingering worry, grief, and the gradual work of figuring out what comes next.
How I Approach Cancer Support Counseling
Counseling doesn't treat cancer, and it isn't a replacement for the care you receive from your medical team. What it can offer is a steady place to talk openly about the emotional side of this experience, without needing to protect anyone else's feelings or put on a brave face. We move at your pace and focus on whatever feels most pressing, whether that's a recent diagnosis, the weight of treatment, or adjusting to life afterward.
Cancer can also stir up anxiety, depression, and grief, and it often affects the people closest to you. Depending on what feels right, our work together might happen through individual therapy, or make room for a partner through couples therapy or loved ones through family therapy.
And if you're the one supporting someone through cancer, your feelings matter too. Partners, family members, and caregivers often carry their own fear and exhaustion, and you're welcome to reach out for support for yourself.
Let's Talk About What's Next
A free 20-minute consultation is a low-pressure way to see if we're a good fit, no commitment beyond that conversation.

Not at all. People reach out at many different points: soon after a diagnosis, during treatment, after it ends, or years later when feelings resurface. Wherever you are right now is a reasonable place to start.
No. Counseling focuses on emotional and relational support, and it works alongside the care you receive from your doctors and medical team, not in place of it. Questions about your diagnosis or treatment are best brought to your medical providers.
That's completely okay. You don't need to arrive with a plan or the right words. Some sessions may focus on something specific, and others may simply be a place to breathe. If you show up tired or quiet, we'll work with that.
Yes. Many people feel pressure to stay hopeful or grateful for everyone else's sake. This is a space where fear, anger, sadness, and hope can all exist at the same time, without needing to be tidied up.
That's something we can talk about together. For some people, including a partner or family member in certain sessions feels helpful; for others, having a space that's entirely their own matters most. We can talk through what fits during your free consultation.
Yes. Caring for someone you love through cancer can bring its own worry, exhaustion, and grief. You're welcome to reach out for support with what you're going through, too.
Payments & Rates
I want to be transparent about my current availability—I have limited space for clients using insurance but more availability for private pay clients.
While I understand that using insurance can be important for many, private pay offers several benefits. It allows for greater flexibility in treatment, ensuring that your therapy is tailored to your unique needs rather than being limited by insurance restrictions. Private pay also provides more privacy, as your records are not shared with insurance companies, and it eliminates the potential for session limits or diagnosis requirements imposed by insurers.
If you're considering using out-of-network benefits, I have an insurance benefits calculator available to help you determine your coverage. You can use it to check if your insurance plan offers reimbursement for therapy sessions.
If you have any questions or want to explore your options, please reach out—I'd be happy to help!
