At this time, I am accepting private pay clients and have limited availability for those using insurance.

If you're considering therapy and have out-of-network benefits, you may still be eligible for reimbursement through your insurance provider. I can provide a superbill for you to submit directly.

If you have any questions about payment options or how to use your benefits, feel free to reach out, I'm happy to assist!

Insurance & Payment Questions

A few of the questions we hear most often about paying for therapy.

Does insurance cover couples or marriage counseling?

Most insurance plans don't cover couples or marriage counseling directly, since it isn't tied to an individual mental health diagnosis. This is standard across the insurance industry, not specific to our practice. If you have out-of-network benefits, though, you may still be able to get partial reimbursement. We provide a superbill you can submit directly to your insurance provider to find out what they'll cover.

Does insurance cover individual therapy?

Individual therapy is more commonly covered than couples work, since it can be tied to a diagnosis. We're in-network with several plans, including Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Medicare, and Colorado Medicaid in Douglas, Arapahoe, and Elbert counties. Availability for insurance-based individual therapy is currently limited, so reach out to confirm current openings.

What if my plan isn't listed, or I'd rather pay privately?

Many clients choose private pay for the flexibility and privacy it offers, since insurance companies typically require a diagnosis on file and can influence treatment decisions. Out-of-network cost is $140–$200 per session. If you have out-of-network benefits, our superbill makes it straightforward to seek reimbursement on your own.

How do I find out what my insurance will actually reimburse?

Call the member services number on your insurance card and ask specifically about out-of-network mental health or behavioral health benefits for outpatient therapy. Or reach out to us directly, we're happy to help walk you through it.
